Exporting Sermon Feedback to Word

Download your sermon as a .docx file — either clean or with all annotations embedded as Word tracked comments.

v0.2.0Updated 2026-04-19

When you are done reviewing feedback in PreachKit, you can take it with you into Microsoft Word, Google Docs, or any word processor. The annotated export places every annotation as a native Word comment attached to the exact passage it references — so you can revise your sermon alongside the feedback without switching windows.

What You'll Learn

  • The difference between the two export options
  • How to open the annotated export in Word or Google Docs
  • What annotations look like as Word comments

Step-by-Step

  1. Open the session you want to export

Navigate to your completed session from the Sermon Polish page or directly from the analysis results view.

  2. Choose an export format

In the top toolbar, you will see two export buttons:

    • Export — downloads a clean .docx containing only your sermon text, formatted and ready to edit.
    • Export with Annotations — downloads a .docx with every non-dismissed annotation embedded as a Word comment attached to the relevant passage.

Both buttons appear in the top-right of any completed session
  3. Open the file in your word processor

Save the downloaded file and open it in Microsoft Word or upload it to Google Docs.

In Microsoft Word: Comments appear in the margin and are linked to the highlighted text. Click any comment bubble to read the feedback.

In Google Docs: Go to File > Open and upload the .docx file. Comments transfer automatically. They appear in the right margin alongside the highlighted passage.

Each annotation becomes a native Word comment tied to the relevant passage
  4. Work through the comments

In Word, use Review > Next Comment to move through them in order. After you make a change, right-click the comment and select Delete Comment to mark it resolved — or Resolve Comment if you want to keep a record.

In Google Docs, click a comment and choose Resolve when you have addressed it.

Tip

Use Export (clean version) when you want to start fresh revisions without the distraction of comments. Use Export with Annotations when you want to work through the feedback line by line inside your word processor.

Note

Only non-dismissed annotations are included in the annotated export. If you dismissed annotations during your review session, they will not appear in the downloaded file.

Common Questions

What format is the export? Both options download a .docx file, which is compatible with Microsoft Word 2016 and later, Google Docs, Apple Pages, and LibreOffice.

Are the annotations in the export organized by category? Each Word comment includes the annotation title and full feedback text. The category and severity are visible in the comment header. You can filter by category in PreachKit before exporting if you only want a specific type of feedback in your file.

Can I re-export after dismissing more annotations? Yes. You can export as many times as you like. Each export reflects the current dismissed state of your session.
