Managing Your Subscription

Upgrade, downgrade, cancel, or resume your PreachKit subscription — and find your invoices in the billing portal.

v0.2.0Updated 2026-04-19

Your billing settings live in one place: Settings > Billing. From there you can change your plan, cancel, resume after a cancellation, buy extra tokens, and view or download past invoices. Only the Owner can access billing settings.

What You'll Learn

  • How to upgrade or downgrade your plan
  • How cancellation works (at the end of the period, not immediately)
  • How to resume a cancelled subscription before it expires
  • How invoices work and where to find them

Upgrading or Downgrading

  1. Go to the pricing page

From your dashboard, navigate to Pricing in the sidebar, or go to Settings > Billing and click the upgrade option for the plan you want.

  2. Select your new plan

On the pricing page, click Switch on the plan you want to move to. A confirmation dialog opens showing a proration breakdown:

    • Credit for unused time — the remaining value of your current billing period
    • New plan (prorated) — the cost of the new plan for the rest of the period
    • Amount due today — what your card will be charged (or credited) immediately

Review the numbers, then click Confirm & Pay to apply the change right away.

Tip

If you are on the Free plan and upgrading for the first time, you go through the checkout flow instead of the proration dialog. A card is required at that step.

Cancelling Your Subscription

Cancelling in PreachKit schedules your subscription to end at the close of the current billing period — you are not cut off immediately.

  1. Open billing settings

Go to Settings > Billing. Under the Current Plan card, click Cancel Subscription.

  2. Confirm the cancellation

A dialog explains that you will keep access to paid features until the end of your current period. Click Yes, cancel to confirm.

After confirming, a yellow banner appears at the top of the billing page showing the date your access will expire and a Resume button.

Resuming After Cancellation

Changed your mind? As long as the cancellation date has not passed, you can reverse it. In the yellow cancellation banner, click Resume — your subscription continues uninterrupted and the cancellation is withdrawn.

Buying Extra Tokens

When your monthly tokens run out, an alert appears in the billing page and on the sermon upload screen. Click Buy Extra — $5 to purchase an additional token pack. Extra tokens do not expire and are used after your monthly allocation is exhausted.

Invoices and Payment Details

For invoices, payment method updates, and billing history, click the billing portal section at the bottom of Settings > Billing. This opens an embedded Stripe-hosted portal where you can:

  • Download PDF invoices for any past payment
  • Update your payment card
  • View your full billing history

Common Questions

Will I be charged immediately when I upgrade? Yes, but only for the prorated difference. You will see the exact amount before you confirm, and you are never charged without reviewing it first.

What happens to my team seats if I downgrade from Growth to Starter? If you have more members than the Starter plan allows, existing members keep access until the end of the current period. After that, you will need to remove members down to the Starter seat limit.

Does cancelling delete my sermons or content? No. Your library stays intact. If you resubscribe later, everything is still there. Only the ability to generate new content is paused after the period ends.

I'm on a trial — is the cancel flow different? When on a trial, the button reads Cancel Trial. Cancelling the trial means you will not be charged when the trial ends. You keep access to paid features for the remainder of the trial period.
