Auto-Sync for New YouTube Uploads
Enable automatic detection of new YouTube uploads so fresh sermon recordings appear in PreachKit without any manual action.
Auto-Sync watches your YouTube channel every 30 minutes for new uploads. When it finds one, it can either add it to your import queue for manual review, or import it directly as a sermon — no clicking required. This is the easiest way to keep your PreachKit sermon library in step with your YouTube channel.
What You'll Learn
- How to enable Auto-Sync for new uploads
- The difference between auto-detect and auto-import
- How to trigger a manual sync and check the last sync time
Step-by-Step
Open sync settings
Go to Settings in the sidebar, then click the Connected Accounts tab. If your YouTube channel is connected, a YouTube Sync panel appears below the connection card.

The sync panel appears automatically once your channel is connected Enable Auto-detect new uploads
Toggle on Auto-detect new uploads. PreachKit will now check your channel every 30 minutes. When a new video is found, it is added to your import queue so you can review it and import it manually from the YouTube import page.

The last synced timestamp updates after each check (Optional) Enable Auto-import without review
If you want new videos imported automatically — without visiting the import page — toggle on Auto-import without review. Each auto-imported video uses one token from your balance.
NoteAuto-import is disabled until Auto-detect is turned on. The two toggles work together: detect first finds the video, import then processes it.
This setting is useful if you upload consistently and want your library to update hands-free. If you prefer to review new videos before they become sermons in PreachKit, leave Auto-import off.
Sync manually at any time
To check for new videos immediately without waiting for the next scheduled check, click Sync Now. PreachKit will scan your channel and add any new videos found. The last synced timestamp updates to reflect the current time.
Use Sync Now right after you publish a new sermon on YouTube if you want it available in PreachKit right away, rather than waiting up to 30 minutes for the scheduled check.
Common Questions
What counts as a "new" video? Any public or unlisted video published after the last sync that has not already been imported or detected before. PreachKit tracks which videos it has seen so duplicates are never created.
What happens if my YouTube connection expires? If PreachKit can no longer reach your channel, Auto-Sync is automatically disabled to prevent repeated failures. You will need to reconnect your channel in the Connected Accounts tab and then re-enable sync.
Will Auto-Sync import old videos I haven't imported yet?
No. Auto-Sync only detects videos published after it is enabled. To bring in existing recordings, use the Batch Import feature: /guide/youtube/batch-import.
Can I see which videos are waiting in the import queue? Yes. Go to the YouTube import page from Sermons > Import from YouTube. Videos in the queue show up there and you can select and import them at your convenience.
