Understand what each role — Owner, Admin, Editor, and Member — can do in PreachKit.

Every person on your team has one of four roles. Roles control what each person can see and do inside PreachKit — from uploading sermons to managing billing. This article explains each role and shows a full permission comparison.

The Four Roles

Owner — the person who created or currently owns the church account. There is always exactly one Owner. The Owner has full control over everything, including billing and the ability to transfer ownership to someone else.

Admin — trusted team managers. Admins can do nearly everything the Owner can, except access billing, delete the church, invite or remove other Admins, or transfer ownership.

Editor — content producers. Editors can upload sermons, generate and edit content, manage the content schedule, and delete sermons they personally uploaded. They cannot manage the team or touch billing.

Member — read-only access. Members can view sermons and generated content and export outputs, but cannot upload, edit, or make any changes.

Note

"Own only" means the Editor can delete sermons they personally uploaded, but not sermons uploaded by other team members.

Changing a Member's Role

The Owner can change any member's role to anything. Admins can switch a member between Editor and Member — they cannot promote anyone to Admin or modify the Owner's role.

To change a role, go to Settings > Team, open the three-dot menu on the member's row, and choose Change role.

Common Questions

Can I have more than one Owner? No. There is always exactly one Owner. To hand ownership to someone else, use the Transfer Ownership flow described in Transferring Ownership.

Can an Admin see or change the billing plan? No. Billing is Owner-only. If your Admin needs to upgrade the plan, they should ask the Owner.

I'm an Editor — why can't I invite someone? Inviting team members requires the Admin or Owner role. Ask your Admin or Owner to send the invite on your behalf.
